If you are tired of being pushed around by a district and your kid is suffering, David’s your guy. I could have said this in a more eloquent and less abrupt fashion, we have been through so much with SJUSD and were relieved that we were able to come to a satisfactory ending. Thanks again David!
I had been battling with the school district for years as things progressively got worse over time. I started the journey with a special ed advocate but soon realized I needed to have someone who knew more about the legal aspects of special ed as well as my child’s rights. I was recommended to Tollner by a friend and decided to meet with Amanda O’Neal to discuss our situation. After meeting with her I knew I had to take the next step and work with them. Amanda was the best, she listened with empathy to years of pent up frustration and supplemented them with her knowledge, soon enough we got the outcome we wanted that best served my child’s needs. My child is in the best placement possible and is in the best environment. I would recommend Tollner Law Offices and Amanda to any parent who is needing to navigate the difficult world of special ed.
I’ve worked with two lawyers from Tollner Law Offices over the past six years, David Tollner and Bonnie Yates. Both attorneys are top-notch. I have two children who required their services. Both attorneys worked wonderfully with the school districts. They’re both very knowledgable about special education laws and guided my husband and me to get the appropriate accommodations and tuition reimbursement for our children. I feel very lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Tollner Law Offices.
David Tollner has helped us tremendously in the past couple of years to get services from school district for our Autistic daughter!!! He is very knowledgeable, professional and efficient. He is very compassionate in defending families Rights.
I highly recommend him to anyone who has a hard time dealing with school district to get services for their child.
Sarah and her team ” brought the sledge.” They were not only efficient and economical in their use of our time , but they brought results much sooner and more positively than expected. We were guided every step of the way by Sarah especially have very warm demeanor, who I mostly would speak with on the phone or zoom. I felt very supported and informed.
Our 13 year old daughter with special needs had not been receiving the appropriate appropriate accommodations she needed to progress in school since kindergarten, despite years of advocating with inappropriate accommodations, incorrect placements, broken promises and failed middle school transition where she lost the entire sixth grade year! We finally got fed up and called Tollner Law Associates where we retained Amanda O’Neal which was the best decision we have ever made! Amanda has been instrumental and invaluable in finally obtaining the appropriate placement and accommodations for our daughter who is now finally learning and progressing! Amanda’s knowledge, guidance in the IEP and legal processes, professionalism, experience and personal passion with helping special needs children has been invaluable. Can’t even thank her enough for making things right for our daughter’s education.
We found this office through a parent group that we trust a great deal. Wd’d never needed representation for an IEP and so didn’t know what to expect. We were very pleased with the process and outcome. Our attorney, Amanda O’Neil was all the things you want: professional, thorough and friendly. The thing we appreciated most was how easy it was to reach her and how quickly she responded to any/all of our questions. Her involvement in our IEP process is THE reason we were able to get the placement our child needed. It’s no fun to have a contentious relationship with the school district. Thanks to Amanda our relationship is good with the district and our child is thriving. We highly recommend this office.
Where to begin. Our child has had an IEP since second grade and never really got the type or level of support she needed. We finally had enough of her IEP team dragging their feet and seemingly talking in circles and hired a special educational lawyer. Unfortunately, our initial lawyer didn’t seem to “get” our child or her needs. After a year, we turned to Tollner Law Offices and worked first with James S. and then with David T. to evaluate and help remedy our child’s situation.
David and his team are outstanding results-oriented professionals. David is extremely capable and reassuring. He responded to our queries in a timely manner and kept us in the loop as to what was happening and what to (likely) expect next. He knows what to do and how to work with school districts and their lawyers. The journey over the years (since second grade) was a long and frustrating experience with repeated rounds of go-nowhere, do-not-much IEP meetings. Having David to navigate and guide us step-by-step led to a very satisfactory and successful outcome, for which we are forever grateful. (Thank you, thank you, thank you!)
I highly recommend Tollner Law Offices
David was very knowledgeable and professional from day one. His knowledge of the nuances of the legal process and the investment he made in understanding the specifics of our case was exemplary. Throughout the process, we felt that he had the best interest of our child in mind. Our early sense was that we were in safe hands when we signed up with him and this was confirmed through all our interactions and, ultimately, when we got the desired outcome for our child in the case.
Amanda was an excellent guide down an intimidating path to secure an appropriate level of educational support for our child.
We could not have navigated this process without her.
Amanda was patient, thorough, and we always knew that she had our best interest as her top priority.
We are so grateful.
