Practice Area
Prior to law school, Wilmary worked as a high school teacher for five years. During that time she recognized the significant needs of children with disabilities and subsequently dedicated her professional career to improving the ability of special need students to access their education. Wilmary applied to law school for that purpose.
During law school, Wilmary volunteered as an advocate at Child Advocates San Antonio (CASA), where she gained valuable experience advocating for the best interest of a child in the child welfare system. Wilmary was also an Alliance of Children’s Rights intern and participated in Alliance’s Education Program advocating for children and young adults impacted by foster care issues in the educational system.
Wilmary’s passion for Special Education Law stemmed from her experience teaching students with various disabilities. She continues to advocate for students outside the law firm as a mentor in an organization called Minds Matter Southern California. Minds Matter supports low-income students’ access to college.
Wilmary graduated in 2011 from University of Texas at San Antonio with a BS in Biology. She received her Juris Doctor from Glendale University College of Law in 2020.
